Do you have good reason to feel stuck?

Are you creative? Do you have an idea of what you could be doing to lead a flourishing creative life? But somehow you just feel stuck. Any of these reasons ring true?

  • Concerned about financial insecurity?

  • Don’t know where to start?

  • Overwhelmed by the options?

  • Feeling like an imposter?

  • Concerned what others will think?

  • Caught up in perfectionism?

  • Terrified of failure?

  • Don’t feel ready to take the leap?

It could be one or all of the above getting in the way of your success. And yet you just want to get going. You want to change things up!

The one thing to get clear on is that YOU are the main barrier to your success. It’s not that these reasons are not valid. Maybe they are (maybe they’re not). The thing is YOU have to take action, despite these reasons. There is no way around it. If you want to guarantee failure… do nothing. Doing nothing will almost certainly lead to you to a life of regret. Is this too blunt for you? Someone has to say it. You could be ‘right’ and prove that the world is conspiring against your success or that you don’t have what it takes. Alternatively, you could do what all successful people do and START despite all the reasons not to. What can you do today?

Take Action Today

What is the one thing you can do today that will impact your creative endeavour? Something specific and measurable (write 3 pages of my script, phone 2 potential venues for an exhibition, post my latest painting on social media). Something that is discomfortable (getting comfortable with discomfort is a key idea in Make Happen).

Let us know in the comments what it is you will do (declaring it to the world, makes it harder to renege on a promise… even to yourself).
